Eva Casale and Team EVA began their day at Bartlett Pond Park on the morning of May 1st, by placing a wreath at the heart of our hidden gem park. Eva then placed roses at each monument, tenderly touching the names and praying silently at each stone. All this before beginning to run the fifth marathon in seven days for Every Veteran Appreciated, raising funds and awareness for our Vets. Today’s run pays special tribute to Louis Bonacassa, whose parents Diana and Vincent were present this morning. They arrived in their wonderful copper golden coach with Louis’ flag lovingly displayed in a custom-made case. Reps from Leg Chad Lennon’s office, Middle Island Civic, Rocky Point Rotary, Middle Island Fire Department and Longwood BOE joined the Longwood Alliance for this moving ceremony and sendoff of the runners. The Alliance presented Eva with a small financial donation to help this wonderful cause. A few moments before the event, a bald eagle flew over Bartlett Pond Park!
